  Tours for Youth

School groups, homeschool groups, and preschools  interested in learning more about the library can request a tour of our Central Library downtown.

Group tours & Storytimes:  Children can enjoy a short storytime together, take a walk around the library building and see the different parts of our collection, and learn more about how to get a library card of their own.  Availability varies; contact Erin Downey Howerton, Children's Manager, for more details.

Joint Tour with the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum: Want to get the most out of your trip  downtown?  Schedule a joint tour with both of our facilities to maximize your out-of-school time.  Indicate your interest using our scheduling form, and we will get back to you within 72 hours with more details. (Can't fund your trip? The Museum has access to transportation grant funding. Please check the box on the form to get more information.)
