When it comes to heading back to school, it’s important that your child has the all the tools needed to start off the year right. So between trips to the store for glue sticks, markers and notebooks, be sure to stop by any Wichita Public Library location and pick up the most important school supply of all – a library card.
Resources at WPL are available to anyone who has a library card. Students can turn to the library for materials, programs and services that support academic achievement. WPL provides card holding students free access to databases of news articles, encyclopedias and test preparation materials. In addition, WPL offers free Internet access, an important resource for families without access at home when the Internet is necessary to complete homework.
Students can also use library cards from home. WPL offers EBSCO Student Research Center, Learning Express for test preparation and Mango Languages for foreign language learning. For a full list of the Library's electronic resources, visit the Online Reference Sources page.
Children and teens under the age of 18 need a parent or legal guardian's signature and proof of address to get a card.
