| Sandy Randel, director of the Cherokee Strip Land Rush Museum, will discuss the role of Kansas in the land rush. Although the land rush took place in Oklahoma, five of the starting points were in Kansas. The largest of these, Arkansas City, exploded in population from 5,000 to more than 100,000 people. This talk is made possible by the Kansas Humanities Council and is cosponsored by the Wichita Genealogical Society. For more information, visit the Society's website at www.wichitagensoc.org.
